Unlike many other veterinary practices, the out-of-hours service at Two Rivers Vets is provided by the same vets that work in the practice during the day. Your telephone call will be diverted to the vet on call, and will be answered in person by Trevor, David or Kirsty. If they are busy dealing with another emergency, please leave a message and contact telephone number and they will return the call very shortly.
While home visits can be made for emergency situations, it is preferable that pets are brought to the surgery. We have much more equipment and a wider range of drugs available than can be carried in the car, and if your pet is very ill or has had an accident, hospitalisation for further investigation or treatment may be needed.
We can also offer advice over the telephone out-of-hours if you are concerned about your pet. Please don’t hesitate to ring at any time if you are worried about your pets’ health, though we ask that routine enquiries are made within office hours.
For equine and farm animal emergencies, the vets keep a large range of equipment in the car to deal with these situations, and can make a prompt visit to the farm or yard where the animal is kept.
